Penrith Music Club’s November concert offers a programme of classics from the repertoire of music for clarinet and piano.
Sarah Williamson is renowned as a virtuoso clarinettist and will be presenting a programme of music by Gerald Finzi, Poulenc. Weber, Schumann. Brahms and George Gershwin, accompanied on the piano by Sam Haywood. Weber’s Grand Duo Concertant, one of the highlights of the recital, is regarded as one of the most exciting works in the clarinet repertoire with its spectacular writing for both players.
Both Sarah and Sam were finalists in the BBC Young Musician Competition and since then have enjoyed successful careers in this country and on the international scene.
