GIFTED YOUNG PIANIST
William Bracken, winner of the 1st prize at the 2022 Liszt Society International Piano Competition and of the 2023 Euregio Piano Award International Piano Competition, will be the guest artist at Penrith Music Club’s next concert. William is already forging a reputation as one of the most gifted young pianists of the present day and has played at several of England’s leading concert venues, including London’s Wigmore Hall, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and the Barbican. Born in the Wirral, he is a pupil of Martin Roscoe, who is well-known to Penrith audiences.
His recital will include two of the finest piano works of the mid-19th century, Schumann’s Kreisleriana and Liszt’s Vallée d’Obermann, as well as a range of short pieces from the early 20th century by Ravel, Scriabin, Prokofiev, Schnedrin and Messiaen and a sonata by Haydn from the mid-18th century.
